Fundraising campaign in Strumica

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Special Needs, оn 03 December 2022 in Strumica, a humanitarian fundraising event was organized by the Center for Research and Analysis NOVUS in cooperation with Association of people with physical disabilities MOBILNOST Strumica, Association of people with intellectual disabilities PORAKA, Ethno Restaurant “Kaj Viktor”, Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia – Municipal organization Strumica, artist Roza Mojsovska and other individuals as part of the event where they presented their handcraft works.

The fundraising event was carried out in three phases – the Handicrafts Workshop, Exhibition Bazaar, and the Humanitarian Action with donation boxes set up to collect the contributions to help the persons with special needs. At the opening of the event the CIP was introduced before the audience who got familiar with the digital platform and its crowd-funding tool. Additionally, project initiative for Strumica region titled ‘We are all the same, we all deserve joy’ was presented with the appeal to support this initiative by placing contributions electronically on www.cip.mk.

More than 200 citizens visited the event. Five unemployed single mothers who produce handcraft items showed interest in the ways the Community Investment Platform could support their work. The funds collected during this event reached the amount of 20,000 MKD. The contributions were allocated to the participating organizations of the people with disabilities and special needs. The event was concluded with a poetry recital performed by citizens with disabilities representing the participating organizations that set off deep emotions amongst the audience.
