Cross-sectoral meeting in Strumica

Today in Strumica, in organization of the Research and Analysis Center NOVUS, a productive meeting with the civil, business and public sector was held within the “Community Investment Platform” project, where the Albiz Foundation presented the Community Investment Platform, while Mr. Goran Veleski, external expert, presented the findings of the research on the cross-sectoral cooperation of the civil, business and public sector.

The average score of the perception of the civil society organizations and the enterprises about the cooperation in the community is 2.7 on a scale from 1 to 5, where 1 is the worst and 5 is the best score. CSOs have rated the cooperation with 2.8, and the enterprises with 2.5.

The analysis of the survey results shows that the biggest needs of the residents of the community are to improve the situation of the young people and the equality of women (22% of the answers), and to improve the local infrastructure (22% of the answers). CSOs also believe that there is a biggest need to improve the situation of young people and the equality of women with 29%, while the business sector believes that there is a biggest need to improve the local infrastructure with 33%.

The goal of the project is to enhance the capacity of the local CSOs to build cross-sectoral initiatives aimed at socio-economic development of the communities. The project is funded by the European Union.
